Mother Arrested After Toddlers Found Wandering Alone In Lexington

An investigation is underway in Lexington after two young boys were found wondering alone Tuesday afternoon.

The children, around ages 2 and 3, were found near Elkhorn Creek at 1:30 P.M. Police say they somehow wandered out of a room at a nearby Knights Inn.

A passing driver saw the boys playing in a storm drain and called police. Both children were wearing only a t-shirt and a diaper.

Police searched several hours for their parents. One of the boys' fathers eventually arrived at the scene.

A woman inside the motel room where the boys came from was arrested. She's charged with child endangerment and possession of marijuana.

The boys are now in state custody while the police investigation continues.

I feel sorry for those babies! There are many unanswered questions: Why didn't the parents check on the children after a few minutes not 2 hours! Were they more of the welfare system that furnishs drugs and alcohol to parents? By that I mean, the state gives money instead of vouchers, thereby, furnish people with the means to purchase drugs and alcohol. I also agree, some foster parents are no better than the birth parents, many are only after the money and could care less about the children. I further agree that the whole welfare system needs an immediately overhaul. Quit giving them money, give them vouchers/debit cards to Wal-Mart for food and supplies that way they cannot purchase drugs nor alcohol. All people recieving welfare should be checked up on at least quarterly to ensure that children are being care for properly. This can be done, if our funds are not sent overseas to help other countries who could care less about us and even want to kill all of us!

Note to "not the pot" What's the zip code in Fantasy Land? You might think that your son has no idea that you are "blazin" but don't sell him short. I have worked with stoners and memory loss is a problem. Some even come to work the next day after they have been terminated. Ya gotta tell em again, dude I like fired you yesterday. A good drug test and random testing "weed"s out the system drainers. When you let your drug problem affect your children like Ms. Stoner did it becomes criminal and the Commonwealth of Ky. should not let this go lightly. You are correct about one thing, that we don't know who you are so why not give your name, why are afraid of. I promise not to call the cops!

who are any of you to act like you know this woman can you even imagine what it would be like if your child left the house while you were asleep and wake up to find the police ready to take you to jail. not only are you suffering from the fact that they got out but also that you may never get them again ive been in a similiar situation and i know how it feels. before you throw rocks at her really think about how you would feel if it happened to you

Joe,my brain is NOT fried.I know full well what I'm doing and how I'm doing it.You have no idea who I am and you have no reason to say things when you dont know what you're talking about.I am a very good person, and I am proud of the fact that I have a job which requires my excellent memory.I could kick your butt on an IQ test any day of the week.Sounds like YOU are the one with the memory loss. You a meth user?Maybe it's just ignorance on your part.I also get pot does everyone differently, but I know many pot smokers and they do not neglect nor abuse their kids.In fact, they are very caring parents. They are not burn outs with fried brains. They are tax paying citizens. They work every day and they are very decent people.Joe,you probably have contact with a pot smoker every day,and you'd never know it.Most people I work with have no idea I smoke. When people make stupid moves, people like you always look for an excuse. You're right about one thing; it intensifies my feelings for you.

This is for "father"--If the rightful place for the kids is with the father, then tell me why God made the "mother" the one that carries the baby for nine months inside HER body, and then goes thru a miserable labor to give birth. Then, she is the one that does the breast feeding, doesn't she? I never saw a pregnant man, or a man breast feeding either! And if the "father" was any better than her, he wouldn't have been with her, now would he?

This is to "Not the pot" in ky, I can see where you are coming from with this because I know a lot of people that can smoke pot and still function, but you have to realize that it affects everybody differently. I agree with you though when you say that it is her alone being lazy. This is just a shame because the father is probably just a worthless as te mother. He was probably just going out to get some beer to go with the pot.

Note to "not the pot" - I see your brain is fried already! It's not the pot, but just like alcohol, it intensifies that the person is an (edited) to begin with. The problem with pot is the memory loss. The problem with pot is the memory loss. And one last thing; the problem with pot is the memory loss.
