FOXSports Writer Jay Glazer Says "Kentucky's The Pits"

More Video...

27 NEWSFIRST has learned that has apparently pulled a controversial article.

Sportswriter Jay Glazer, who also appears on TV, was sent to Georgetown to cover the Cincinnati Bengals training camp for his Glaze Across America series.

In his article, titled "Bengals look good, but Kentucky's the pits," he takes swipes at the region using terms like hillbilly and goober in referring to people he met.

He suggested the area needs a full time scout to walk around and correct grammar and spelling errors.

Glazer also went off about the last call for alcohol being what he considers too early.

While this article is no longer available on the FoxSports website, Glazer's newest article takes another jab at Kentucky.

In an article based on a recent visit to Dallas, Glazer makes the following comment:

"Best nightspot on my trip to date It came in Dallas. The Ghostbar in the W Hotel in Dallas was a far, far cry from Goober Pyle, Guardian Angel and Georgetown, Ky."

Well, my initial response was so lengthy that it far exceeded the 1000 character limit allowed on here. So, for those of you who are bored enough and want to read it, here's my original response I wrote to fox sports, as well as AOL Fanhouse. It's number 7 on the list. Enjoy!

Wow!!! I am so taken back by the outcome of this situation, re: and now I will call him Mr Glazer. I just got back from Kentucky a few hours ago, flew out of Blue Grass Airport, after 4 days of seeing old friends, checking on my property, sitting outside under the stars with the awesome people that will someday be my neighbors, driving Paris Pike through horse paradise, going to Keeneland, Stopping at country stores with the most polite ,kind people! And once again had to leave with regrets, looking forward to the day I can spend my life in Kentucky! I have a strong allience to that state and its people! I hope you will return there, and take a good look around, walk the country roads! Smile and wave and I truely believe all the goodness will be returned to you! You did the right thing by saying you were sorry! Thank You !

Well....I knew it would only be a matter of a few days till everyone didn't make such a fuss. It seems that Mr Glazer has gotten away with it. For starters I believe "The Pub" employees should step up and put a defamation of character lawsuit against Mr Glazer and Foxsports. Foxsports should of never allowed that article to be phublished. That just shows that they encourage thier employees to "drink and drive" and degrade others. Wait a minute....I thought Fox was suppose to be a family oriented television program. Well guess my family won't be watching Fox programs or logging on to thier site any more. Come on Kentuckians....Stand together don't let some tight a** get the best of us. He needs punished.

I think Mr Jay Glazer needs to take is no good drunk butt back to New York City and stay there cause us hillbillies will kick his no good new york butt. I dont think it was very nice to talk about use workers at the georgetown Wal-Mart either at least we are the friendliest people in Kentucky your will ever meet.I was born and raise in ky all my life i love being a hillbilly at least you can understand what we say. And for other more georgetown is a dry county and there was no man selling moonshine out of his car either cause he would have been arrested like you should have been. If i was a cop i would have pulled you over for sure i hate people like you coming to a beautiful state and talking bad about us.You are like that ty pennington that came to cynthiana putting the people down in that city.If you dont like it stay in the stinky town of NEW YORK.And believe me i didnt misspell one word. So there i'm a true Kentuckian take that to the bank and cash it in .

As I have noted elsewhere (including with Mr. Glazer's employer), when framed differently his comments are quite startling. Imagine would I, um, say, um, without the venom and vilification of the world raining down on me that the black community hasn't exactly produced too many MENSA members of late? Boy, sounds pretty ignorant and bigoted when you put it like that doesn't it? Amazing what someone will say when his alcoholic beast isn't soothed with nectar he seeks. What a jerk.
