Kentucky State Police were called to a shooting Monday morning at a home on Highwood Drive. The call first cam in as a burglary in progress.

Yet when police arrived they found one woman dead and two people injured.

Police say Diane Young was found shot to death, a child was found injured and Larry Young suffered a self inflicted gunshot to the head.

Young later died at UK Hospital from his wounds. The child was taken to Franklin Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released.

The Franklin County Coroner says he's investigating the shooting as a murder-suicide. But Frankfort police say they're waiting for autopsy results before making any statements.

Police tell us Diane and Larry were newlyweds and had been married for only three months.

Authorities have not yet determined what caused the shooting. Investigations are still underway.
