Engineers are assessing a Richmond restaurant after it was damaged by a car last night.

Structural engineers have already condemned the Long John Silvers.

Police say it appears the driver, Nathan Baker of Berea, blacked out and lost control on the Eastern Bypass went off the road, down a ditch and through a parking lot before hitting the restaurant.

Baker's car then hit an SUV which was in the drive thru.

Baker was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

No one inside in Long John Silver's was hurt.

To "Me in Berea" - I'm happy to hear my work is appreciated :) I think we as a society tend to overreact to and over analyze every little situation, when sometimes you just need to sit back and see things at face value. Sometimes, the simple way is the best way!

Trust me, this guy did not do this on purpose! I saw the whole thing happen while he was still on the by-pass. I watched in horror thinking he was going to plow through the entire restaurant. It could have been much worse!

Holy Mackerel! Good thing nobody was hurt or they might have to go to the Long John Silver’s Hospital and be operated on by a sturgeon! LOL! Are you sure the guy was driving a silver Eclipse and not a Barracuda?

Originally though it was reported that the SUV hit the restaurant and the car. They've just corrected it is all. I love that guy who took the tray home with his food to finish his meal. I want to give him a big hug. He made me smile! :)

I think that they need to press charges or make him pay or something. I dont think he blacked out and think it was on purpose!!! If he just gets off the hook how will he learn or anyone else. He needs to learn from his mistakes!

It does say the SUV was in the drive through and the car went through a parking lot and hit the building and then SUV!
