Dozens Arrested During Raid At Plant

Scores of suspected illegal immigrants have been arrested in a raid on a southwest Ohio poultry plant.

Authorities say the Koch Foods facility in Fairfield, about 20 miles north of Cincinnati, has been under investigation for two years.

Special Agent Brian Moskowitz with U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement says it's the plant's "pattern and practice" to hire undocumented workers.

A Koch Foods human resources manager says he terminated 150 workers after learning they were not in the country legally, and he complains that federal authorities have ignored requests to work with him so he could stay on top of the issue.

this is to crystal well said the mexicans do draw food stamps, medical cards and at least 7 families live in one house all sharing the rent & bills, i guess they like to share..we, americans are not allowed to live in a household with several other people and receive assistance because that would be fraud...so, i say send them back to mexico and the government wouls save money!!

The issue isn't that Americans will not do the jobs so Mexicans have to. The issue is ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. If they want to live and work here, fine--but do it legally. Ann, most of us (except for Native Americans) are immigrants, but we are here legally now.

i say give the roadside litter crew back to the prisons, make them earn there keep. and maybe taxpayers who provide there roof over there head, free college degree and 3 mewals a day might see benifit from this. why pay the illegials when we have a million locked up who would do it for nothing. maybe some hard time will cure a few.

For all of you who think the Mexicans are the only people who will pick up garbage on the side of the road-that is not true. There are people who volunteer to pick up garbage-notice that I said volunteer, and probably in most counties. Why? Because they want to help their communities. As for them taking jobs, that is partly true. But, they do jobs that our sorry, fat assed people won't get out of bed to do. A lot of our people don't want to lose their welfare checks, food stamps and medical cards, because then they won't have enough money for drinking and drugs.

Karen and Jay - you guys took the words right out of my mouth! Americans do not want to work for money - they are too lazy. Immigrants come to this country and know they have to WORK to earn money. That is all they are trying to do; who can fault them for that?

Illegal immigrants ARE NOT taking jobs away from Americans. I was unemployed for a time and could not find a job concurrent with my degree. I took a manual labor job roofing houses which at least kept me ahead of the bills. I was paid whatever the boss paid everyone else; no more, no less and yes, most of the workers were Hispanic. I asked why he didn't hire more American workers and he said I was the first one who actually came back after interviewing people for the last 5 months. People want it too easy; you can't start at the top. You have to work your way up. With no experience, don't expect to make $15 an hour. Take what is available until you find something you like but never quit looking. Get off your butts and quit drawing welfare and food stamps just because you can't find a job that pays you BIG BUCKS! You probably aren't qualified!! I grew up in a big city that always ranks high in poverty..why? because the people there are lazy. I know it because I have seen it.

Agree with Karen and Jay. I'll take that swap eagerly, a crackhead for an illegal, given a choice. Our young people might actually get a clue from watching people work very hard for low pay and not whine. On the other hand, they're going to get nothing but robbed from or addicted by the crackheads, and can only look forward to supporting all their children when they start paying taxes.

I agree 100% with Karen. If the Mexicans weren't picking up the trash on the side of the road, who would? The drug addicts and want-to-be gangsta thugs that live government check to government check and don't do anything but hang with their "baby mama"? Don't take my word for it, just check out section 8 housing on "check day", you'll know what I mean. Believe me, I don't want illegals here either, but don't complain about them taking your job if it's a job you wouldn't do anyway. It's a very complicated issue, but simply put, I'd rather have a hard working illegal here than these check-cashing crackheads that we as taxpayers are supporting anyway. Here's an idea, lets do a one-for-one swap with Mexico, an illegal for a crackhead. I'll take that trade anyday.
