A man accused of killing a six-year-old boy in Hardin County says he didn't do it.

Police say Antwan Hayes beat Mar'riel Lucas to death.

Mar'riel Lucas was rushed to a Hardin County hospital Wednesday morning and then flown to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy showed the child died from an intestinal tear caused by blunt force trauma to the abdomen. Police say Antwan Hayes, 22, who lived with the boy and the boy's mother, admited to hitting Lucas in the stomach Wednesday morning.

Hayes had a not guilty plea entered on his behalf during an arraignment this morning.

Hayes is being held on a 500-thousand dollar full cash bond.

The murder's parent's are staying with the child's mother's family. That doesn't sound like a grieving family to me

I'm sick of the mother's friends saying she didn't know and stop blaming her. It was her who introduced this MONSTER to her son that ended his life. This baby was beat so bad it tore his intestines, there's no excuse for that. The cops and hospital officials said it was the worst case they've ever seen. Beatings like that don't happen only one time, it just got out of control this time. I'm a single mother and I know you have to do what you have to do to pay the bills, but why wasn't this MONSTER out working so she could stay home and care for her son? LADIES....stop introducing MONSTERS to your children for your own pleasure....this is what happens. I am so sick of hearing and seeing innocent babies lose their lives to MONSTERS who can't control themselves. Wake up people! RIP Mar'iel

It takes a viallage to raise a child- I wonder how many warning signs were overlooked by neighbors, bruises that were ignored or explained away. We all need to wake up and pay attention. It is a cold world- you have to have a license to drive a car or get married, but any idiot can be allowed to raise a child. God help our apathy.

Check the statements the boy's mother made and see if they add up.

Forget him what about this loving child, Mariel poor baby. God will defiantly handle this man whether he meant to kill him or not. The family, the grand mother, the child's mother, the aunts, the uncles, and the child's father what about them. A part of them is GONE for ever. I can not imagine what was going on in this child's head as he bleed to death. Not saying good bye to every one. Just may be if he was rushed to the hospital a little sooner he may have lived. However, an adult could not blood all nite internally let alone a child, if that was the case. I pray for the family because I have a newfew who is six that I love with my heart. To get the phone call that says he has been beaten to death would kill me. I am crying as I type because that is real life people. Its not a game a man is either going to be convicted or not convicted whether he murdered him or not. I pray for justice not just for that precious child, but for the family.

THE ONLY REASON HE SHOULD NOT BE WORKING IS IF HE HAS AT LEAST 2 LIMBS BROKE! HOPEFULLY HIS JAIL MATES CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN FOR THE HORRED ACT THIS MAN HAS DONE TO AN INNOCENT CHILD!

THE MAN NEEDS TO BE CROWNED WITH THORNS AND WALKED AROUND THE CITY STREETS CARRYING THE ROPE THAT WILL HANG HIM. FOR THE MOTHER, SHE MUST BE A REAL PEICE OF TRASh TO BRING SOMETHING HOME THAT WOULD LEAD TO THE DEATH OF HER CHILD. IN THE MIDDLE EAST SHE WOULD BE STONED. MAYBE THESE PEOPLE KNOW SOMETHING WE DON'T, AFTER ALL WE HAVE ONLY BEEN A COUNTRY FOR A FEW HUNDRED YEARS.

There should be no bond. He couldn't defend his self, he was a child. The man aught to be in the electric chair.
