VH1's Save The Music Donates To Eastern Kentucky Schools

Students in Letcher County can now strike up the band in style.

The sound of flutes, trumpets, clarinets and more rang out as students played their brand new instruments.

VH1's save the music donated musical instruments worth $50,000 to Fleming-Neon and Cowan Elementary Schools.

This makes a total of five save-the-music grants for Letcher County Schools.

The district band will perform their first concert with the new instruments at a Christmas concert in December.

I attended Cowan Elem. as a child and we had no music at all! I have since attended Save the Music concerts and gave to the cause and I am so pleased to see it go to such a deserving school!
