Study Examines Women's Safety On UK Campus

A new study released this morning by the University of Kentucky shows female students are feeling safer on campus. However, UK officials say they still have more work to do.

The study, conducted by UK's Center for Research on Violence Against Women, says 31.7% of women on campus say they feel very safe.
In 2004, just 16.4% of women surveyed felt that way.

Also in the survey, the percentage of women reporting being victimized in some form is down about two percent.

UK President Lee Todd says the university still wants make students and their families feel UK is a safe place.
