Threatening Note Causes Security Concern At Kentucky High School

Additional police officers were on hand Thursday morning at Morgan County High School after a threatening note was found in a locker.

Two students share the locker where the note was found Wednesday.

As a precaution, all of the lockers in the school were searched Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday morning, students were searched as they arrived at school.

No charges have been filed so far.

The school's principal says if the person responsible is found, he or she will face disciplinary action.

The principal says attendance was lower Thursday.

I PERSONALY FEEL THE SCHOOL SYSTEM AND THE WEST LIBERTY POLICE FAILED TO DO ALL THEY COULD HAVE FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE AT THIS SCHOOL. ALL OF THE STUDENTS WERE SEARCHED, BUT WHAT ABOUT ALL OF THE ADULTS SUCH AS PARENTS AND TEACHERS? THEY COULD HAVE BEEN JUST AS GUILTY AS ONE OF THE STUDENTS. COMMON SENSE PROJECT, IF YOU DON'T KNOW, EVERYONE IS A SUSPECT.

You have to wonder WHAT would have caused someone to send this note in the first place. (People don't generally threaten to blow someone's head off without a specific reason)

Thats really scary!!! I think that person should be found out and sent to a mental hospital until there fiftythree but then again the person could hav done it as a joke we dont know cause they just say the note was threatening and as the two share a locker a note that seems threatening to one of them could just be an inside joke to the other

Guest from West Liberty - So how do you want it? You want your purses and wallets kept personally and don't want cops going through your things, but you think they should search lockers and cars on a daily basis. You're scared but you don't want to be intruded upon to ensure your safety. What is it you want?

Note to Guest from West Liberty - you should worry more about your English class in school. Run on sentences in your post are ridiculous. Your spelling and grammar suck too. Concentrate more on your classes and don't worry if a cop wants to search your belongings; it is for your own safety and the safety of others. You are on school property and everything is subject to search because my tax dollars are paying for your education.

I go to morgan co high and i dont feel very safe with cop searching me and i dont like them going though my things. i think our purses and wallets sould be kept personaly and i just dont feel safe. yeah kids go from the tech building without anyone watching and i just dont feel safe and i think they should search cars and lockers and anywhere they think they could have hidding something like that and i think we should have somthing like that every morning and or metal detercors at the doors.. and they should have more teachers outside watching students coming from the tech building to the high school it just feels unsafe to walk around the high school and i think students that dont feel safe at school should be excused no matter what and i think they have a reason to stay home if they dont want to go . i didnt want to come because of the things going on. I dont know the girls but im really sorry for them and their family and im turly sorry they had to go though this..

you may have home schooled your son, but at some point in his life, he will have to wander away from Mom's apron strings. Bad things happen everywhere, not just in schools. Here is a fact; home schooled children are far more inept socially than those who attend school outside the home. Ever watch the National Spelling Bee? Home schooled kids have no clue how to act in public. Socially inept!!!! Might be smarter in some instances but can't function in society.

I have kids that go to morgan co high school, i think they are doing a good job with our kids, however when a kid tells some one that something is wrong or they have heard some thing, they need to take care of it right then not days later.

I have to agree with Brittany, I felt very safe when I walked into school today. I wish something could be done where we have metal detectors at 2 doors and all students enter one or the other.
