Darius Miller Verbally Commits To Play At Kentucky

Billy Gillispie has won another recruiting battle, this one is his biggest to date so far within the commonwealth. Darius Miller from Mason County said this morning that he will play his college basketball at Kentucky.

Miller told kentuckysportsradio.com that Gillispie's reported hiring of Tracy Webster as an assistant coach was a huge factor in his decision. Webster was Illinois' lead recruiter for Miller's services. Scout.com rates Miller as the 35th best player in the senior class, and rivals.com has him at number 45.

Tina - there is a big difference in a typing error than a complete post in which the majority of the words are spelled incorrectly, grammar is thought to be your parent's mother and punctuation is non-existent. There is a difference between discussing basketball and believing it is a religion or the new coach is the second coming of Christ. Priorities in this state by politicians and the citizens are askew. If you feel UK b-ball and its players are worth "fawning" over, I have no problem with my priorities. I grew up in Eastern KY (you know, where us rednecks do all those weird things like marry our sister) but I can differentiate what is a priority and what is just a game. Yes Tina, your are right; I know nothing about the game. I'm just a poor old country boy who led his high school team in scoring and could have gone farther in the GAME but being diagnosed with MS changed that. That is when you realize it is just a GAME; not a way of life.

For Jeb- People who live in glass houses should not throw rocks........... I notice after your very condescending remarks about spelling that you "the intelligent one" had a spelling mishap. Oops! Was that supposed to "nothing" that you were trying to spell? This is an article about UK Basketball--not everyone is worried about a dangling participle! I think you are just upset because you know nothing about the game. Better yet, I bet you are not a true Kentuckian- you are probably a transplant from another state just trying to be a poser. Get with the program and discuss UK B-ball and stop being such a "downer"

TO ALL TUBBY LOVERS.....COACH G HAS ALREADY SIGNED MORE TOP RANKED PLAYERS HIS FIRST YEAR THAN TUBBY DID HIS WHOLE CAREER AT UK. TUBBY WAS INDEED A GOOD MAN BUT NOT A GOOD COACH. HE WON ONE NCAA TITLE WITH RICKS BOYS AND ANYONE WHO CAN'T SEE THAT IS ILL. I COULD HAVE COACHED THAT TEAM TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP, ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS PUT FIVE GUYS IN AND WAIT. WAIT AND SEE YOU TUBBY LOVERS OUT THERE, WE WILL BE BACK TO THE SWEET SIXTEEN THIS YEAR AND A TITLE IN THE NEXT THREE YEARS. WELCOME BACK UK BASKETBALL.

How many games has KY won under Billy G? NONE! You guys sound like he is the greatest thing since sliced bread and he hasn't even coached a real game yet. It's basketball people; not a life changing event. After reading these posts by "True Blue" fans, it's clear to me that the majority of these people lack the education needed to make them appear even slightly intelligent. Look at all the spelling and grammatical errors. Concentrate your efforts on other things except basketball. If the majority of you were as smart in life as you are about KY basketball, you might be taken a bit more seriously. When all you do is breath, eat and sleep KY basketball, you appear to most, as backwards people who have nothign better to look forward to in life. It's a child's game you are fawning over; get over it.

Yes you all are so right - I do suffer from lack of knowledge - and I am so thankful I can always count on true blue fans to set me straight. Whew...... may my life now continue. Come on people - it's a game. Just a game. And yes, just a coach. I can like who I like as well as you can like who you like. Just as you, I have the right to post what I want, when I want.

Think maybe everybody should kick back and see if Gillespie can win a game before he's declared the Second Coming of Christ Himself?

Be glad we have a coach that recognizes a Kentucky boy has enough talent to play at the University of kentucky. Let's look forward and not back.
