The drought is drying up lakes across eastern Kentucky, forcing water shortages in many areas.
The division of water has issued a water shortage warning in Magoffin County where the licking river is running low.
A water shortage watch is also in effect in several counties.
The city of Evarts in Harlan County has also declared a local water shortage advisory.
Residents in these areas, as well as many other water districts in eastern Kentucky are asked to conserve water in any way they can.
