Western Kentucky Native Appointed To High Court

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Governor Fletcher has appointed Kentucky Court of Appeals Judge Lisabeth Hughes Abramson of Louisville to the Kentucky Supreme Court. Judge Abramson fills the vacant seat of the late Justice William McAnulty.

Abramson is a native of Princeton in western Kentucky and a graduate of University of Louisville. She received a bachelors degree with highest honors, her juris doctorate magna cum laude and was named the outstanding graduate of her law school class.

She served as a judge on the Kentucky Court of Appeals from 1997 to 1998 and again starting with her appointment by Governor Fletcher on June 30th, last year.

Judge Abramson currently serves as immediate past president of the University of Louisvilles Brandeis School of Law Alumni Council, and is a member of the American, Kentucky and Louisville bar associations.
