Man Charged With Murder Is Out Of Jail

A man charged with murder is out of jail after posting bond.

James Barnes is charged with murder, DUI, assault and wanton endangerment.

Police say Barnes hit a car head on... on Kentucky 476 in Perry County earlier this year.

34-year-old Marlene Shelton died, and several others were injured.

Barnes was supposed to go on trial Monday, but the commonwealth's attorney withdrew from the case for personal reasons.

Judge Bill Engle lowered Barnes' bond Tuesday morning and later Barnes posted the 50-thousand cash and 200-thousand surety bond.

He's also under home incarceration.

The attorney general's office will now prosecute the case.

No new trial date has been set.
