Third KY Guardsman Killed In Two Weeks

A Kentucky Army National Guard Soldier died in Iraq.

Private First Class Sammie E. Phillips of Vine Grove died on Monday.
The 19-year old was conducting a traffic control mission when his vehicle overturned.

Phillips is the third Kentucky National Guard Soldier killed in action within a two week period.

    This was my little brother's best friend. My heart goes out to Sammie's family and his new wife. Tony was his best man at his wedding just 3 months ago. I pray that God gives them stregth through this time.

    When is this going to stop???? My heart breaks for every young face, every father, every son, every daughter, every mother, every brother and sister, every friend whose life is lost in vain in this war!!! I am so sorry. I hope you are able to find comfort in God for your loss!!
