Bite Robbery Suspect Facing Attempted Murder Charges

More Video...

A robbery suspect accused of biting a store clerk plead not guilty to attempted murder, among other charges today.

29-year-old Victoria Spoonamore has tested positive for HIV.

Today she plead not guilty to all charges, including attempted murder, wanton endangerment, and robbery.

Spoonamore appeared via camera from the Boyle County Jail, where she has been held since her arrest last week.

The robbery, at Chill's Quick Stop in Danville, was caught on tape.

Police say Spoonamore got into a fight with the clerk, bit her, and then shouted she had AIDS.

The clerk will take medications, and will have to wait one year to learn if she's HIV positive.

A preliminary hearing is set for later this month.

Spoonamore is being held on a $500,000 cash bond.

Mel and Karen are right. It's idiotic to fight with a robber. This is not defending yourself, if you leave them alone they'll (usually) leave you alone. Don't be stupid, your "stuff" isn't worth your life and someone else's "stuff" is less worth it.

This is to sgt howard, I am not saying that I would not lift a finger to help somebody, but did you watch that video? I would not have just attacked somebody because they were trying to rob a store, I would do just like mel said, I would call the police and let them take care of it. I am not stupid enough to go after somebody that may be diseased, or have a weapon, or anything else. And don't worry, I wouldn't want somebody as ignorant as you helping me anyway, I think I will jsut call the police. Thanks anyway (edited).

My son is in the military and my husband was in law enforcement for 26 years, as I was for 4 years. My view is that these people are trained to subdue and take into custody, and they should be called on the convenient 911 number to be asked to do so. Again, I'm confused as to why anyone would take it upon themselves to go hand to hand with an obviously crazy and andrenaline-charged woman who has a lot more at stake in getting away than the clerk had in saving that small amount of money in the register. If you are trained to fight, and you have something valuable to you to fight about, go for it. If you're a young female clerk behind a counter at a convenience store, save the heroics for what's really important to you and you might save your life in the process.
