Security Guard Foils Robbery Attempt

Lexington Police are searching for a man who tried to hold up a Lexington drug store and ended up being chased by a security guard.

It happened late Tuesday night at the Rite Aid at Winchester Road near Eastland Parkway.

Police say the clerk either didn't obey the robber or the robber lost some of his nerve.

A security guard who happened to be nearby chased the man away.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 20's or early 30's, between 5'4" and 5'6".

Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue jean shorts.

Good job to the private citizen who chased this would be robber away! Mark, I agree that more private security officers are needed, however, let one of them shoot someone and they will be the one charged with murder! The criminals are the only ones with rights in Kentucky! Thanks to the freakin lawyers and judges! When the average citizen tries to protect their property or person, then they are the ones in trouble with the law, instead of the criminals! The WHOLE judicial system needs REFORMED! To give citizens back the right to protect what's theirs against these lazy bums who will not work! If citizens start shooting then perhaps our courts won't be so backlogged! But that's exactly why our government doesn't want us with guns! So the criminals can come in and take whatever they want whenever they want and to hell with all our hard work! Fire every d** lawyer and judge in KY and let's start fresh!

It looks like the answer to the problems related to public safety in Lexington Kentucky will fall into the hands of the citizens and businesses to handle it. It is obvious our local government is either incapable or unwilling to perform their constitutional duties. We need to have private armed security guards all over this town. They need to be trained to shoot to kill. That will stop the crime that is arising from the refusal of the Lexington Government and its Mayor to enforce all the laws. Selective enforcement emboldens the criminals who think they can get away with breaking the law. We are watching the effects of this unwise policy on a daily basis. Thank God, that the news people at Channel 27 WKYT T.V. report the news. If it weren't for you citizens would be in the dark. Keep up the good work. We the public need to know what to do to keep safe.
