Paris Fire Chief Under Investigation

State police are investigating a Paris city official tonight after allegations of theft.

Kentucky State Police confirm to 27 NEWSFIRST they are investigating Paris Fire Chief Kent Morris for misusing city funds for personal use.

Police won't talk about how much money was allegedly misused, and Paris city leaders will only confirm an investigation is on-going.

At this time Chief Morris has not been charged.

When rules are broken and there is no punishment, this leads to more rules being broken, but what the heck it is done on all gov't. levels.

It's funny how someone that commits arson to receive insurance money can become the fire investigator and then later on become fire chief...What is wrong with this town? What is wrong with the city commisioner to allow any of this to take place.

Come on city commission WAKE UP! You have some very good people on your fire department - but they are being smothered

Weather they prosecute or not for criminal reasons, it looks like to me that the city would still have to act on some of the ongoings that has taken place down there. If not, it seems like this is nothing more than a help your self house, and a bully house instead of a firehouse with every one having a little rouge to explain. Even Mike Woods got busted for less, but then you had different people running the place, with pride, trust and honest. How bout that city commissioners?????????????????

KSP took their case to the County Attorney on Friday, Dorothy Jo Mastin. She REFUSED to prosecute. You do realize Morris and her son once lived together! Small town bull----! The bad people always seem to slide. Anywhere else KSP could take the case? I understand they had good cooperation and good evidence against Morris. One person.. Mastin... can stop justice? Wow. Looks like the Morris's will continue to "rule".

Just heard a rumor that KSP will be dropping their investigation on the chief stealing city money. Didn't he admit it was only $100 give or take? I guess the city then is like Walmart. Walmart won't prosecute if shop lifting is under $25. Other rumor I heard is that the new nepotism policy exempts the Chief and his Wife. So they can be married but if 2 other city employees want to be married that is nepotism. Bigger picture question - the staff cannot work for the Chief who has no respect and treats people like garbage. It is apparent that he wants to move people around to avoid working with his Wife. Is it going to be a constant thing that any time the wife gets her feelings hurt, the rest of the employees will have to be taken to task?

How about the chief wanting (2) firefighters that his wife had "words" with to transfer to the other station! Oh by the way, one of them had asked to be transferred after he realized that she was a drama queen. No nepotism here - is there Mr. Casher?

It is sad that this man is still there after all the outrage, see if Maron Thomas can give them some help, if not, see if the street dept.wants him back, if not there is only one choice. Now you know the rest of the story.

Hmmm so Rick Dropped back to a Lt. From Asst. Chief? We where told in one of the first meetings that we had when Chief Morris took over was that once you went up in rank or went from emt to paramedic that you couldn't go backwards. So my question is why did they let Rick do it ? Sounds like double standards to me !! Sounds like the union needs to look into it to me!!!! Just remember guys there are a few that still have your backs...
