Dozens of Kentucky Army National Guard soldiers returning home

Friends and family will gather at the Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort Wednesday to welcome home 86 Kentucky Army National Guard soldiers.

The soldiers are returning from a tour of duty in Kosovo.

The National Guard says Bravo Co., 2nd Battalion, 147th Aviation and Charlie Co. 169th MEDEVAC mobilized last August for the mission.

The soldiers have been supporting slingload and firefighting operations, troop transport and hoist operations, and medical evacuation missions for U.S. and NATO troops and civilians.

The National Guard says Kentucky has only deployed one other unit to Kosovo.

The welcome home ceremony will take place Wednesday afternoon at approximately 12:30 at Hangar #2 of the Boone National Guard Center.

I see we are still in Kosovo........why? This was started under the Slick Willie years and we are still there? I am tired of being the Worlds Policeman and when it comes to the U.N. Military, that is the USA as well. Close 99% of ALL foriegn bases and bring them home to protect our Borders. Enough is enough!!!!!

Welcome home, soldier!! How unfortunate that a few local employers will not allow immediate family time off to attend the welcome ceremony.....
