For the first and only time, Lexington residents got the chance to voice their opinions about what kind of person would make a good replacement for Lexington Police Chief Anthany Beatty when he res gins in January.

Only three people showed up to the meeting Thursday night to give their feedback to a committee responsible for finding a new chief. But committee members say the small turn out is a sign residents are satisfied with the job Lexington police are doing.

They say they hope to wrap up their search for a replacement by October. Those who didn't get to share their thoughts at the meeting, but would still like the chance, can submit them on-line by clicking the link below.

I don't care who they make chief. I DO care when I call the Lexington Police and get NO RESPONSE. This has happened on two occasions in two years. I sent an email to our mayor who has all but said who cares. Can you say one term mayor!

This report is not true. It does not matter what the public thinks or wants. Why show up and waste time when the decision will still be biased. Only the elected politicians will have the input. Just like in the alcohol sales on Sunday.
