Hearing On Murder Suspects Health

A hearing is set for Tuesday morning in Boyle County to determine if an 82-year-old man is physically able to stand trial on a murder charge.

Jack Caldwell, Senior, is accused of shooting his neighbor, Jim Trachsel, to death during an argument over a lawnmower in 2004.

A judge has said Caldwell does have the mental capacity to take part in his defense.

Caldwell is said to be in poor health.

He is sick, and I think that his illness should be determined before taking him to trial. The way he looks right now, it almost seems like he might die before the trial is even over.
