Georgetown police arrest man they believe to be connected to a series of copper thefts

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - One man is in jail and another is still on the run after an overnight break-in in Scott County.

Georgetown Police say they've been doing surveillance at the AT&T facility on Main Street for several weeks. They say Copper wiring has been stolen on several different occasions from the location.

Police say they were in place when two men broke into the facility early Monday morning. They say something spooked the two men and they took of running.

Investigators say one man got away, but the other was arrested after falling into a creek.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have not yet released the suspects name.
