LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Folks in central Kentucky spent their Saturday morning outside at Keeneland.
The Lupus Foundation of America held it's sixth annual walk to help raise money and awareness for the disease.
Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can lead to kidney or liver failure.
Right now, 24,000 people in the Commonwealth suffer from lupus.
"We have several people here who are suffering with lupus, patients, survivors, or they're in remission. So we walk for those in remembrance, or just in general, to raise money for a cure," says the Lupus Foundation Director of Events.
So far, the organization has raised more than $20,000.
