Beau Biden to speak at Democratic dinner in June

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden will speak the annual Wendell Ford Dinner on June 6 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville.

Biden, the son of Vice President Joe Biden, has been Delaware attorney general since 2007. In that time, he has created the Delaware Department of Justice Child Predator Unit to track and prosecute child sex offenders. He also has pressed successfully for legislation to strengthen Delaware's sex offender registry.

A former federal prosecutor, Biden is a major in the Delaware Army National Guard's Judge Advocate General's Corps and served in Iraq in 2008 and 2009.

Kentucky Democratic Party Chairman Dan Logsdon said it's an honor to have Biden as the keynote speaker for the event.
