Berea puts up new stop signs to slow speeding in neighborhood

BEREA, Ky. (WKYT) - Police are stepping up efforts to crack down on speeders in a Berea neighborhood.

On Monday, Berea placed temporary four-way stop signs at the Intersection of North Powell Street and Brown Street and Brown Street and Kenway Avenue. The streets are located in the Dixie Park area.

Construction crews started installing the signs about 9 a.m. Monday.

Sgt. Jake Reed says the police department received numerous complaints from people living in the area about excessive speeders.

According to Reed, police officers will be in the area the next few weeks to make sure drivers obey the new stop signs.
