Body in Ohio River identified as Illinois woman

PADUCAH, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky officials say a body found in the Ohio River has been identified as that of a missing Illinois woman.

McCracken County Sheriff's detective Tim Reed told The Paducah Sun that 55-year-old Sandra Farris of Cairo, Ill., had been reported missing on March 28 when she didn't come home after going for a walk.

Her body was spotted early Wednesday by barge workers, who called authorities.

Police said they reviewed medical records and reports of missing people in order to find the woman's identity.
