BOYLE COUNTY, KY. (WKYT) - The Boyle County Sheriff's office and Boyle County Fire Department are investigating an accident involving a school bus.

Officials say the bus ran off the road on Highway 300 near Yates Road around 3 p.m. and hit a tree.

An official with the Boyle County Sheriff's office says that there were four kids, a bus monitor and the driver on the bus at the time of the accident.

The driver and one child were taken to the hospital as a precaution. Investigators say both had minor injuries.

Investigators think part of the road broke away, causing the bus driver to lose control. They say the wet roadway could also have been a factor.
