Car ends upside down in creek in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - A mother and child are being treated for minor injuries after police say their vehicle went down an embankment and landed upside down in a creek.

It happened before 8am on Friday on Tates Creek Road in Madison County. Police say a woman was driving down the road when she over corrected in gravel and lost control of her vehicle causing it to go down a steep embankment. The vehicle overturned in a creek.

Police say the mother and her young child were both able to crawl out of the vehicle and up the embankment before EMS arrived on the scene.

Both mother and child were transported to UK Medical Center for minor injuries.
