Arrest made after car hits pedestrian in Danville

DANVILLE, KY. (WKYT) - Late Saturday night around 1:30 a.m. the Danville Police Department responded to the intersection of Maple and Main Streets for an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The investigation determined that a 2007 Honda Civic, driven by Samuel Medley, 20, of Louisville took a left turn onto Main Street from Maple on a green light. Medley did not see the pedestrian in the crosswalk.

The victim is identified as Anthony Brown, 18, of Berea. Brown was struck and thrown into the windshield of the Honda.

Brown was transported to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries. Police say injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Medley was arrested on scene and charged with DUI and lodged in Boyle County Jail. Officer Pedro Lemos and Officer Phillip Dean are leading the investigation.
