Bengals player arrested in Madison County road rage case

MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Cincinnati Bengals' fullback Orson Charles, 23, was booked into the Madison County Detention Center on Monday for charges of wanton endangerment.

Around 7:30 Monday night, police say a person driving south on I-75 called 911 and reported that a man in another vehicle pointed a gun at him several times while driving down the highway. The victim says the situation escalated into a road rage incident when the driver cut him off.

Police were able to catch up with the suspect, who was identified as Charles, and officers found a black and silver semi-automatic handgun inside his girlfriend's purse.

He was released from the Madison County Detention Center on Tuesday morning on a $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing for Charles has been scheduled for Friday, April 11th.

Charles went to the University of Georgia. He has played as a half-back for the Bengals in nearly 30 games in the last two seasons.
