Proposal to allow Lexington Police to drive cruisers for personal use

Lexington city leaders have come up with a new proposal to allow Lexington Police to use cruisers for personal reasons.

For the last two years, officers have been allowed to take cruisers home. However, they can't use them for anything but work.

The new proposal would allow personal use if the officers each pay $50 to cover gas costs.

The police union still has to vote on the proposal.
