Community feeling loss of candle making business

LIBERTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Investigators began the task of sifting through the remains as smoke still rose from the ashes of Goose Creek Candle Company. The family-owned business started small and moved into a large Liberty warehouse last year.
"I just feel really bad for the people. My heart goes out for them," said Stanley Huff with nearby Shaker's Pizza.

Huff says not hardly a day went by that they didn't deliver food to the Candle company employees.

"I just feel bad that all of these people that have worked for them, have no jobs right now," said Huff.

The company's website stated that the candles were known for filling a room with fragrance. Now, the community is feeling a tremendous loss. The company employed 75 people.

"You could go in there and it smells fantastic. One of the most wonderful smells you could ever smell," said Huff.

Huff says an aroma so pleasing, he keeps the candles going all over his restaurant.

"We bought candles from them, they bought pizza from us," he said.

The owners plan on starting their business up again from a nearby warehouse.
