LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - A liquor company has agreed to move its inventory of whiskey barrels after residents near storage warehouses said vapors were causing a black fungus to form on houses and vehicles.
The Courier-Journal reports Diageo Americas Supply Inc. entered into an agreement with Louisville, Ky., officials that calls for 185,000 barrels of whiskey to be moved over 30 months.
Company spokeswoman Alix Dunn says some barrels would be moved to a different location in Louisville and the rest would be taken to warehouses in Tennessee.
The agreement came after the company was cited the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District. No fines were levied in the agreement.
