The Kentucky Court of Appeals has upheld the dismissal of a wrongful death lawsuit against a parole officer stemming from the deaths of two young children during a police pursuit in Louisville.

The court on Friday found that Parole Officer Allen George properly supervised 30-year-old Kenielle Finch and cannot be held responsible for Finch's flight from police. As Finch tried to flee from police in July 2009, he struck and killed 5-year-old Claudia Fay Wadlington and 4-year-old Riley Jane Lawrence outside a restaurant. Claudia's mother, Angie Wadlington, was injured in the accident.

Finch, a parolee now serving life in prison, fled from police shortly before the girls were struck.

The families of the two girls sued George, saying if he had properly supervised Finch, the chase would have never happened.
