WKYT Crimetracker: Summer murder case turns cold

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - On August 12, 2012 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Lexington Police responded to the corner of West 7th Street & Dakota Street for a shots fired call. When police arrived, they located the victim, Brian Hodge, on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds.

"Earlier in the evening, there was a block party, often referred to as "Brucetown Days," and Hodge was out there with several neighborhood residents celebrating. It was a nice afternoon. He ended up getting into an argument with several men at the end of the street," said Detective Reid Bowles.

Det. Bowles says Hodge kept arguing with the men as he walked up Dakota, towards Seventh.

"Eventually he was shot," said Bowles.

Lexington Fire Department transported the victim to UK Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
