BOYLE COUNTY, Ky (WKYT) - DANVILLE, Ky (WKYT) - It was quite a scare for a woman on Linda Avenue in Danville Monday night, just as she was going to bed.
“There was a big, loud booming noise. I didn’t know what it could be. Alarm went off in my house then,” said the woman, who asked WKYT not to identify her.
It scared off the would--be thief. She went downstairs and discovered her door kicked in.
“When the alarm went off I presume whoever it was ran off. Because they knew the police were coming,” she said.
Over the next two days Danville police would be called to two similar cases. One on Hartland Ave. and another on Graham Street where a woman says she woke up to find her window open and phone lines cut.
Police have been going out in the community telling people to look out for suspicious looking individuals.
They also advise people to keep their doors locked and windows shut.
One neighbor said they discovered a crowbar and bolt cutters near one of the attempted break ins. In most cases the victims say nothing was taken…because the thief was spooked before the could get in.
Police say all the break ins happened late at night.
