Nicholasville police say six people killed in US 27 crash

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - A crash on US 27 in Nicholasville has killed six people, and injured four others, according to Nicholasville Police.

The road was closed for hours on both directions.

Police say the driver of a car, which had four passengers, was headed north on US 27, somehow lost control, crossed the median, and hit another car. That car also had five people inside, and was hit head on. Police say one of those cars caught fire.

Police say that US 27 is a very busy road and there were a lot of witnesses to this wreck.

Police had been trying to find a witness who they say is the driver of a red newer-model Mustang. Police have informed WKYT that the driver of the Mustang came forward to answer questions for the Collision Reconstruction Team.
