Developer plans to move Ky slave cemetery

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - A southern Kentucky developer wants to move what is believed to be slave cemetery, but a county board wants to see his plans for the property.

Attorney Kevin Brooks represents developer Joe Daniel. Brooks told The Daily News (http://bit.ly/1aRoMKH ) his client works around cemeteries frequently, but can't maintain the burial ground properly in its current location.

Daniel is seeking to move the cemetery to the rear of the developed property. Brooks says the area will have more open green space with better accessibility.

The Warren County Cemetery Board wants to know how the boundaries of the cemetery, which dates to the 1800s, will be located and the remains handled.

The board is also asking to see Daniel's plan for the property.
