Driver charged with DUI after crash critically injures Franklin Co. man

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - One man is battling critical injuries and another is in jail after a crash. It happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday on Hickory Ridge Road in Frankfort.

The Franklin County Sheriff says Joshua Graves, 30, topped a hill and hit a car driven by Barbara Johnson, 73. They say the crash sent Graves' car flying into some mailboxes. We're told he hit Evan Prewitt, 26, who was standing near one of them.

Prewitt was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center and is listed in critical condition. A family member took Johnson to the hospital to be checked out as well.

Deputies arrested Graves and charged him with DUI, two counts of wanton endangerment, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, failure to produce insurance card, failure to notify department of transportation of address change and possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle.

Graves is in the Franklin County Jail on a $20,811 bond.
