Nearly two dozen inmates face new charges Tuesday, after investigators say they drugs showed up inside the Whitley county jail.
After a week long investigation, Williamsburg police say they learned that the inmates were getting suboxone strips into the jail. Investigators say they watched an inmate trustee pass the strips to others.
That's when jailers ordered drug tests for inmates in five different cells. A total of 21 inmates were confirmed to be under the influence.
The investigation is ongoing. Officials expect to make more arrests in the future.
