Ex-jail employee pleads guilty, no jail time

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A former Fayette County jail employee will not spend any time in jail for exposing himself to two female inmates unless he violates his probation.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reported that as part of 29-year-old Kevin Michael Lawson's guilty plea last week, prosecutors agreed to probation in lieu of 12 months in jail. Lawson was ordered to undergo sex offender treatment.

Jail officials dismissed Lawson in January 2011, a month after two female inmates told authorities he followed them into the bathroom and exposed himself while on duty.

Both of the women have since sued Lawson, the city and the jail. The civil cases are pending in Fayette Circuit Court.
