Fake Twitter message causes lockdown on Eastern Kentucky campus

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - A twitter hoax caused an Eastern Kentucky campus to go into lockdown Friday morning.

Officials with The University of Pikeville say they briefly went on campus lockdown Friday morning after someone posted a message on Twitter that caused some alarm. What exactly was posted has not been released at this time.

School officials say they called police who investigated and determined that there was no threat at the school and that the message was a hoax and the lockdown was released.
