LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Someone fired multiple shots into a home on East Loudon Avenue early Tuesday morning, as a family slept inside.
The homeowner told WKYT's Sean Evans that he and his family were asleep when they heard the shots. He said the shots were followed by what sounded like someone trying to kick in the back door of their home. The family says that bullets hit their washing machine and hot water heater.
Police did make an arrest shortly after responding to the shots fired call. Investigators tell WKYT they saw a man walking near the home carrying a bag. When officers stopped to talk to him, they say he ran off. They caught him a short time later, on nearby York Street.
Police tell us the man is 19-year-old Tevin Williams.
Police say they also found the bag he was carrying. In it, they found several guns, a knife, and duct tape. That man was charged with fleeing and evading, criminal trespassing and had an outstanding warrant. At this time, he has not been charged in connection to the shooting at the home on Loudon. Police say they are interviewing him about the incident.
This shooting happened just more than a block from where another family had shots fired in their home during a home invasion. Right now, Lexington Police say it's too early to tell if the two shootings are related.
