Family returns home to Kentucky after adopting three children from Uganda

A Scott county family just got a lot bigger. There are now eight of them.

Robert and Kristi Smith now have six children. Three of them are adopted from Uganda.

They returned home Friday from Africa.

A large gathering of friends and family welcomed them as they arrived at Blue Grass Airport.

They say it's been quite an adventure more than three years in the making.

The Smith family includes daughters Shelbi, Baili and Mallori along with new children Kamri, Lilli and Lucas.

Robert Smith is a chemist at Lexmark and the Serve Minister at Harmony Christian Church in Georgetown.
