YOSEMITE, Ky. (WKYT) - Jerry Jones says he didn’t think it was unusual to find a motorcycle sitting in his back yard….because his son owns one. Only it wasn’t his son that he found inside his house.

“I found a man and a woman in the bedroom,” said the Casey county man, who returned home from farming to find the invited guests going through valuables in his bedroom.

They were shoving jewelry into a bag and had electronics stacked on his bed.

“Told both of them to stop…drop everything, he hunkered down and said ‘get back, get back.,’” said Jones.

The man ran into him and Jones fell into a shelf. He says he saw a man and woman get on the motorcycle and drive away. He called 911 and says he tried to chase after them but he says his truck gave out.
“When I got it into second gear that was it. I tore the rear end out of it. There I sat,” he said.

And despite the fact that these thieves were caught in the act, Jones tells me they are missing some of their valuables. He says his wife is missing diamond and gold jewelry.

He says the man and woman were both in their 30’s and left on a “rocket” style motorcycle. The Casey County Sheriff’s office is investigating. Jones says it was a frightening experience.

He says he questions if the pair had help from elsewhere because he says there’s no way they could have gotten away with all they were planning to steal…on a motorcycle.
