Fatal accident in Floyd County

One person is dead and other is flown to a hospital following an accident in Floyd County.

It happened around noon Monday on Kentucky 1428 right outside of Prestonsburg.

Police tell us 55-year-old Homer Music was pronounced dead at the scene and 37-year-old Earleene Hunt was flown to Cabell-Huntington hospital in West Virginia.

At this time, police are not sure who was driving the vehicle but say the driver apparently lost control of the car, hit trees, and went into a ditch.

The State & County are responsible for this road and nothing is ever done except put some gravel here, and blacktop to here. After years as working as a engineer.I find it hard to believe the residents put up with this.SPEED LIMIT max.30 M.P.H. and in some places thats to fast. this road is never patroled. MR. BLackburn. Hey COMMONWEALTH of KY. Major accident, road closed 2hrs. only 2 troopers on duty. W.T.H.....these people cruise this road out of their minds,an no one to check em except when it's in there yard. And they are stoned out of their minds.and it take 2 hrs for a KY STATE Trooper. Folks this is not, what we are entitle too.Stand up and take it back our kids and family are more important.
