LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Fayette County schools will be closed on Tuesday due to the extreme cold.
School leaders made the decision Monday afternoon. Schools in Lexington were also closed on Monday. A make-up day has not been announced yet.
Dozens of school districts in central and eastern Kentucky have already closed for Tuesday.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning for much of the area. WKYT Chief Meteorologist, Chris Bailey, says lows overnight will drop below zero overnight and gusty winds will make it fell like -20 to -25 at times.
