Fire at Lincoln County church parsonage under investigation

A fire destroys the former home of a Lincoln County minister and now police are investigating.

This message remained on the inside wall of a parsonage that burned in Lincoln County.

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Kentucky State Police are looking into a fire at the Crab Orchard Baptist Church. The fire, which started around eight Sunday night, destroyed nearly everything inside the old home.

The minister at the church says his family moved out of the decades old home several weeks ago and into a new home. He got a call Sunday night that it was on fire.

Police were called to investigate following reports of vandalism that may have occurred inside the home.

Despite moving out, the minister says his family still had some belongings in the home that were lost in the fire.

Kentucky state police have worked arson cases on this property once before. They arrested a juvenile in 2010 for starting a small fire inside the church.
