Officials calling Lexington apartment fire suspicious

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Arson investigators are combing through evidence at a Lexington apartment complex after an overnight fire.

Crews were called to the Coolavin Apartments on West Sixth Street just before 3am Friday morning.

When they arrived they found a mattress had been set on fire outside one of the apartments and that the fire had spread to a second floor apartment.

Several families are displaced while crews check the integrity of the nearby apartments.

Officials say the fire is suspicious. No one was hurt.
