No one injured in early morning house fire in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - No one was injured in an early morning fire on Jefferson Street in Lexington.

Fire crews responded to the fire shortly after 7am Friday morning. Smoke and flames were showing when firefighters arrived on the scene. Crews were able to quickly put out the fire.Jefferson Street was closed between 3rd and 4th Streets while crews worked to clear the scene, but they are now reopened.

Officials say that five people were home at the time the fire started. Everyone was able to get out safely. Fire officials believe the fire started on the second floor porch. Most of the damage appears to have been contained to that area and the roof over that porch.

There was minimal damage to the three apartment home.
