ESTILL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Neighbors say a vacant mobile home on Stacy Lane Road caught fire and destroyed the trailer just after noon Monday, and now investigators are trying to figure out what happened.

The Estill County Fire Department arrived to find smoke coming out of the front of the trailer, and it wasn't long before the fire completely took the house.

A neighbor witnessed the whole thing and even said he started toward the home to put out the fire, but realized it was going to be too much to take on.

"I saw smoke coming out of the roof of the house, (I) got up told my wife to call 911. I come out and see if I could go over to put the fire out and saw the flames coming through the door. It was pretty much over for it," said Philip Riddell.

Neighbors say no one was around the trailer, and that the home owner is currently away in jail.

While crews are investigating the fire, the Kentucky State Police say they have not had to dispatch an arson investigator to the scene, at this time.
